What used to be called an epulis has now been reclassified as a Peripheral Odontogenic Fibroma. Buddy has such a tumor as shown here. These are fairly slow growing but as you can see can get very large.

In order to treat and cure this, the tumor must be removed in its entirety along with the tooth or teeth associated with it and completely cleaning out the socket around the tooth with special instruments
